Job Title: Scriptwriter

Job Type: Contract, Part-Time


The D5 Group seeks a skilled Scriptwriter to develop compelling scripts for a strategic communications marketing campaign. This role involves creating impactful scripts for video and audio segments that align with the campaign's goals. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller with experience creating narratives that engage and resonate with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Script Development:

  • Write engaging scripts for video content, including interviews, storytelling segments, and informational pieces.

  • Work separately with the Cinematographer for video content and with Sound United Podcast Studio for audio content such as podcast segments and interviews.

Research and Storyboarding:

  • Conduct background research and collaborate with market researchers to ensure scripts are accurate and relatable.

  • Create outlines and storyboards to ensure clarity and cohesion across the script.

Editing and Revisions:

  • Refine scripts based on feedback from the Marketing Strategist and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure scripts are polished, clear, and production-ready.

Key Deliverables:

  • Finalized scripts for video and audio segments aligned with campaign objectives.

  • Outlines and storyboards for approval by campaign stakeholders.

  • Revisions and refinements based on team and stakeholder feedback.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a scriptwriter for video, audio, or podcast content.

  • Strong storytelling ability with a portfolio demonstrating effective scriptwriting, ideally within community-focused or social-impact projects.

  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

  • Familiarity with interview-based content and audio production is a plus.

Compensation:

  • Competitive project rate based on experience and qualifications.

  • Estimated 30-40 hours of work for this project. Specific timelines and project expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating content for community outreach, social justice, or strategic communications campaigns.

  • Experience with audio production and developing podcast scripts is a plus.

  • Knowledge of SEO and digital marketing practices is beneficial but not required.
